Maintenance Technician

Summary of Job:      

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the buildings, grounds and surrounding areas are maintained in a safe and clean manner at all times.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Is responsible for repairing and maintaining the physical structures of the office.
  1. Responds to common maintenance problems quickly and restores the equipment, etc. to the proper condition.
  1. Is responsible for repairs, woodwork projects and sheetrock work as required.

4. Handles minor electrical repairs.

  1. Handles minor plumbing repairs.
  1. Handles minor heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration repairs.
  1. Replaces lights.
  1. Repairs office furniture.
  1. Paints as needed.
  1. Is responsible for obtaining estimates for repairs and maintenance.
  1. Is responsible for the economical use of supplies and equipment.
  1. Is responsible for knowing and following the work schedule, observing work hours and maintaining a good attendance record. (See the attached attendance and punctuality requirements.)
  1. Attends in-service programs as directed or required.
  1. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the public.  Exemplifies the Company’s Five Star Program.
  1. Follows all corporate and departmental policies and procedures and complies with the Employee Handbook.

16. Performs other tasks as needed or directed.

 

DEGREE OF SUPERVISION

 Accountability: Reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

 Education or Training: Must be a high school graduate or earned a GED.

 Knowledge and Experience: Requires at least 3 years of work in maintenance.

 Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity to effectively use maintenance tools.  Must be able to function in an office setting.  Must be able to drive an automobile.

 Accuracy: Must be able to find and correct errors.

 Physical Activity: Physical activity involves reaching, carrying, looking, listening, talking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, grasping, lifting, and much standing and walking.

 Exertion Requirements: Heavy – exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently and 10 to 20 pounds of force regularly to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.  Must be able to walk, stand or sit to a significant degree depending on task requirements.

Working Conditions: Works indoors and outdoors frequently performing tasks in inclement weather.  Is subject to fall from ladders and cuts from hand tools or other equipment.  Automobile travel is required.

Must be able to concentrate on work tasks amidst distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic.

Must be able to work in a confined area performing repetitive work for extended periods of time.

 Hazards or Risks: Hot and cold temperatures, inclement weather conditions are common occurrences.  There is the possibility of injury for the use of maintenance equipment.

Worker Characteristics: Must have a responsible, ethical and professional manner with the ability to listen, learn, plan and organize.  Must be able to communicate effectively with people of different races, sexes, ages and social classes.

Non-performance Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile liability insurance and a Social Security card or work permit.

Audiology Technician- Daphne

SUMMARY OF JOB:

The Audiology Technician is responsible for assisting the audiologist as well as being responsible for answering the telephone and scheduling appointments for the department.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

 Accountability: Reports directly to the Director of Audiology or Supervisor of Audiology.

Education or Training: College degree preferred but not required.

Knowledge and Experience: Requires the ability to learn new skills.

Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity for examining patients and operating equipment.  Must be able to function in an office setting.

Accuracy: Must be able to transcribe information received from patients, including insurance coverage, social security and telephone numbers without error.

Physical Activity: Physical activity involves keying, writing, reaching, carrying, looking, listening, talking, bending, lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, climbing, grasping and much sitting, resulting in heavy work.

Exertion Requirements: Heavy – exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally

Education or Training: Must have a high school diploma. Technical experience is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience: Requires at least two years of optical work experience.

Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity for examining patients and operating             equipment.  Must be able to function in an office setting.

Accuracy: Must be able to accurately measure and fit eye wear.  Must transcribe               information received from patients, including insurance coverage, social security and     telephone numbers without error.

Physical Activity: Physical activity involves keying, reaching, grasping, carrying, looking, listening, talking, bending, lifting, standing, walking, and much sitting, resulting in medium work.

Exertion Requirements: Medium – must be able to exert force to lift and carry from 20 to 50 pounds up to 10 feet occasionally, from 10 to 15 pounds of force up to 10 feet frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Must be able to           walk, stand or sit to a significant degree depending on task requirements.

Working Conditions: Works in an office setting, which is well-lighted, ventilated and temperature regulated.  Automobile travel may be required. Must be able to concentrate on work tasks amidst distractions, such as noise,   conversations and foot traffic. Must be able to work in a confined area performing repetitive work for extended periods of time.

Audiologist- Full Time Days

An audiologist specializes in evaluating and treating people with hearing loss.  The audiologist conducts a wide variety of tests to determine the exact nature of the individuals problem.  The audiologist also dispenses and fits hearing aids, administers tests for balance and rehabilitation training.

Must have AuD or Master’s degree in Audiology and certification by American Speech and Hearing Association and Alabama Board of Examiners for  Speech, Pathology and Audiology.
