Supervisor of Insurance- Full Time Days

SUMMARY OF JOB

Coordinates and supervises the work activities of Insurance Clerks.  Files, re-files, researches and appeals outstanding insurance claims.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Directs and supervises the work activities of Insurance Clerks.
  2. Organizes the workloads and assigns duties as needed.
  3. Files, re-files, researches and appeals outstanding insurance claims.
  4. Works audit trails and follow up reports generated through the IDX system.
  5. Files insurance claims electronically for all clients of Premier Medical Management.
  6. Processes insurance claims for primary and secondary carriers.
  7. Receives, reviews and distributes printed pertinent material to appropriate personnel.
  8. Coordinates work efforts with Reception Desks.
  9. Assists staff in addressing and solving outstanding insurance problems for patients.
  10. Is responsible for work schedules, approving work hours and ensuring good attendance records of staff members.  Must maintain a good personal attendance record.  (See     attached attendance and punctuality requirements.)
  1. Attends in-service programs as directed.
  2. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, patients, customers and the public.  Exemplifies the Company’s Five Star  Program.
  3. Follows all corporate and departmental policies and procedures and complies with the Employee Handbook.
  4. Performs other tasks as needed or directed.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Accountability: Reports directly to the Business Office Manager, Finance.
  2. Education or Training: Must be a graduate of an accredited high school.
  3. Knowledge and Experience: Requires at least 5 years of work experience in thefield of insurance reimbursement.
  4. Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity for operating office equipment. Must be able           to function in an office setting.
  5. Accuracy: Must be able to transcribe information received from insurance offices and      patients without error
  6. Physical Activity: Physical activity involves typing, writing, reaching, carrying, looking, listening, talking, bending, lifting, standing, walking, and much sitting, resulting in light work.
  7. Exertion Requirements: Light – must be able to lift or carry up to 10 pounds of weight up to 10 feet occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), or a negligible amount of weight up to 10 feet frequently (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time).  Light work requires sitting most of the time, but may involve periods of standing and walking depending on task requirements.
  8. Working Conditions: Works in an office setting, which is well-lighted, ventilated and temperature regulated.  Automobile travel is required. Must be able to concentrate on work tasks amidst distractions, such as noise, conversations and foot traffic. Must be able to work in a confined area performing repetitive work for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Requires at least 1 year of previous cashiering or banking experience.
  • Must be able to post payments into the computer system without error and give correct change to patients.

Optician- Full Time Days

Dispenses, repairs and sells eyewear to optical customers following the Five Star Program. 

Accountability: Reports directly to the Optical Supervisor

Education or Training: Must have a high school diploma. Technical experience is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience: Requires at least two years of optical work experience.

Dexterity: Must have good manual dexterity for examining patients and operating             equipment.  Must be able to function in an office setting.

Accuracy: Must be able to accurately measure and fit eye wear.  Must transcribe               information received from patients, including insurance coverage, social security and     telephone numbers without error.

Physical Activity: Physical activity involves keying, reaching, grasping, carrying, looking, listening, talking, bending, lifting, standing, walking, and much sitting, resulting in medium work.

Exertion Requirements: Medium – must be able to exert force to lift and carry from 20 to 50 pounds up to 10 feet occasionally, from 10 to 15 pounds of force up to 10 feet frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Must be able to           walk, stand or sit to a significant degree depending on task requirements.

Working Conditions: Works in an office setting, which is well-lighted, ventilated and temperature regulated.  Automobile travel may be required. Must be able to concentrate on work tasks amidst distractions, such as noise,   conversations and foot traffic. Must be able to work in a confined area performing repetitive work for extended periods of time.
